July 30, 2020 (Spooky Brook)

Rick and Mike tie with 72s - one shot better than Ed. Greens were very slow and pins were in some tough spots. Mike defeats Frank 6 and 5 in match play. Jim tries out a new "Marvik" 6 wood without much success. Maybe if he had the Mavrick he would have done better!

July 25, 2020 (Warrenbrook)

Jim Rinaldi played steady and was the only player to shoot under Par with Net 70 and a 3 shot win over Fitzgerald.  On the first tee, Fitz rolls his drive 2 feet.  Minutello is up next and rubbing salt into the wound asks Rich to mark his ball.. Too funny!  The 17th Hole claimed a couple victims.  Both Fitz and Larry Thiry had net 24's on the back going into the 17th, Fitz took a 14 and Larry Thiry took a 16.  Larry also carded a 16 on that hole on Thursday.  In Match Play, it was the Battle of the Basement as Rismanchi defeated Smith 2 & 1.  In Partners, two PQR's were played, Perry/Schuler shot 70 and Rutigliano/Price shot 68.

July 23, 2020 (New Jersey National)

Jim Rinaldi blitzes the field including Ron on his home course with a gross 76 for a 3 shot win. Jim also played 18 holes in the AM at Ridge at Back Brook. Dave recovers from missing a 2 foot birdie putt on 13 to roll in a 50+ foot putt from 15 feet off the green on 14 for a birdie. Rough was deep and the greens were very fast. We played in 4 hours but had to wait out a thunderstorm on the 13th tee. Thanks to Ron for hosting us - the course was in fantastic shape plus we enjoyed pizza and beer at his house after the round.

July 23, 2020 (Warrenbrook)

The rough at Warrenbrook was think and scores were high.. Korleski wins by 3 over Price with a Net 75.   Before the round, Ceglia Jr. was watching YouTube on how to increase clubhead speed.  Really!?!?!?  Dan Price only ran over two "No Carts Here" signs.

July 18, 2020 (Neshanic Valley - Ridge/Lake)

A sunny warm day at Neshanic Valley and only one person was able to shoot under Par (Net).  Charlie Connors wins BIG with a Net 71.  It was a day of Equities as only 5 of 20 went Equity free.  Four Match's were played resulting in two Ties, the highlight being Babetski down 5 with 6 to play and ended up in a Tie with Griffith.  Thanks to Bob Nowark for bringing a case of beer for his World Series victory last week!

July 16, 2020 (Spooky Brook)

FTDGA wins by 4 over Ron "Bryson" Cegs. The Thiry boys shoot 63 in their final PQR - more on that from FT

July 11, 2020 (Quail Brook - World Series Qualifier #2)

It was a rare afternoon Saturday round and it was just fine for Bob Nowark.  His net 62 was 4 strokes better than the next player and there is no need for him to wait and see how aggregate fairs because he is now in World Series and another crack at the Championship.  More from Commissioner John Rutigliano on that.  He shot an impressive net 28 on the front and a rain drenching back nine net 34.  Bob also had 12 net birdies and 2 net eagles.  Not to mention Bob and Bob finished with a net 54 PQR.

Mike Jeffries and Jim Petronchak tied the greenies pot with an impressive 4 greenies each.  Andrew Keller and Mark Schuler finished with 1 sandy each.

In other PQR news, Jim Rinaldi and Mike Jeffries finished with a net 65 and Billy Bylina and Andrew Keller finished with a 69.  More on that from Commissioner Frank Thiry.

In match play Bruce Rapp continues his hot hand and defeats Rich Fitzgerald 5 & 3 and moves on to play the winner of Cavallo vs Keller.  More from Commissioner Greg Cavallo.

July 9, 2020 (Flanders B/W)

On a very hot and humid day Ed was roping his drives on his way to a 3 shot win over Jim R. The greens were slow and we played the white tees at 6417 yards - lots of long par 4s. Many favorable bounces off of trees and back to the fairway. Bob (no fear) Nowark hits a 3 wood out of the trees with no obvious shot and ends up making a bogey on a par 5.

July 7, 2020 (Quail Brook)

Hot and Steamy.  Dan Price survives with a net 73.  Highlight of the day is Dan driving into the side of the tunnel at Quailbrook.  Gave me flashbacks of Dave and Ed driving across the bridge during World Series in PA (White Tail ??).   Still uncomfortable not talking about Mike Jeffries in the results.  He was a late drop due to a sciatic flare.  Feel better Mike.

July 4, 2020 (Green Knoll)

John D blisters the back nine with a net 30 including 4 net "2s" to win by 5 shots over Mike. JD must have had a premonition since he brought a lot of beer. This is his second win of the week on Green Knoll. Plenty of guys brought beer and it was great after a steamy day on the course.

Greg Cavallo and Ed Korleski look solid in their partners PQR with a 66 and 129 total for their 2 rounds.

In Match Play news it took 35 holes for Bruce Rapp to beat John Rutigliano 2 & 1.  Bruce will go on to play Rich Fitzgerald in the next round.

July 2, 2020 (Green Knoll)

JD wins by 2 over Mike on a hot, humid day. Greens were hard and fast with some tough pin positions. Thanks to Petro and Bruce for bringing beverages. A group of us then went to the GK Grille for food and beverages.
