Dave Perry - Hole In One - #8, 171 yards, 4 Hybrid!!!
Dave and Bruce were able to join the DGA this week at Spooky Brook. Dave had a hole-in-one on the 8th hole. It was playing 171 yards with a strong hurting wind. Dave hit a high 4 hybrid that landed on the green right of the pin and went right in. (Thanks for the drink at Stagehouse!) This was Dave's second hole-in-one with the last being a long time ago. Otherwise George Canfield beats Charlie by one stroke and wins $58 with low front nine, birdies and net birdie pots.
Beautiful March day. Started off a bit chilly but got to 60 degrees.George Connors wins by 3 with 9 net birdies and 2 birdies. He won the front 9 and was second on the back 9. Billy birdied 16, 17 and 18 to take the birdie pot. Charlie finally got his new clubs (Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metals); didn't matter. Jim R. had 15 equities on hole 9 and 10 trying to get out of the bunkers. Reese was crushing his driver today. I think we measured a couple at 270 yards. He noted that he just needs to get his swing into "the slot" and it all happens from there.
Jim R wins in a walk based on a torrid front 9 with 3 birdies. Rick said it was going to be "sunny with the birds singing" we never heard a bird due to the 25 to 30 MPH winds but we did see a couple of hawks. All in all a great day to play given the weather for the last month. Jim played like Scotty on the front 9 but with winds picking up on the back not as sharp still an 8 shot win is an 8 shot win. Ed overcomes a slow start on the vack to win it and help his team half the match on the back. Mike was lucky enough to be Jim's partner to the tune of $11 so thanks JR!
