October 31, 2023 (Quail Brook)

Greg C and George win all the money on a pleasant fall day at QB. The first group struggled all day with putts missing on one side or the other. Greg C had a Johnny with a red-hot front and a not so much back.

October 28, 2023 (Pine Barrens)

A picture perfect fall day - sunny and 80. Pine Barrens was another tough test for the DGA - Ron wins by 1 over George. The last 5 holes were brutal and sent most scores soaring.

October 27, 2023 (New Jersey National)

New Jersey National took the measure of all of us. The greens were unbelievably fast. It was a perfect fall day temps in the 70s and little wind. George wins by 4 over JR and they share all the money.

October 26, 2023 (Neshanic Valley R/M)

Awesome late October day at Neshanic. Ed and Reese tie but Ed wins the big money due to his Par 3 play, birdies #3 Meadow, hits 3 greens and wins both Par 3 pots. George was even par on the front nine until he rinsed his 2nd shot  on the Par 5 ninth Meadow, still makes bogey and ends up one over.

October 21, 2023 (Spooky Brook)

The day started out with a light rain. It stopped raining about half way and then the wind picked up. None of that mattered to Jim P who shoots under par and wins by 3 strokes. At the bar there was quite a bit of discussion about how far Jim Rinaldi was driving the ball, apparently just crushing it. Rick picks up a nice $40 win with his par 3 play including 4 greenies.  Jim P and Billy both birdied / net eagled the 18th and Billy had 2 other birdies. In the Partners Match Final Connors / Schuler defeat Bylina / Keller 3 and 1 in a hard fought match. The score was back and forth all day. The back nine started with Connors / Schuler down 1, Mark birdied the 11th to square the match, they are down 3 though after 13 and then rallied on 15, 16 and 17 to pick up 6 points and the win. An email earlier in the week summarizing the upcoming Partners Match may have provided some extra motivation; "Don't poke the Bear".

October 19, 2023 (Neshanic Valley R/L)

Gorgeous mid-October day at Neshanic. A little chill at the start, but most wind shirts were off by the turn. George Canfield wins by 1 over Jim P despite making two triples on the back nine. George hits all four greens making a birdie on one. Jim P also birdies a back nine par 3.Greg R plays his 1st offical DGA round and loses $19 and almost as much in the cart match. Welcome to the DGA.

October 17, 2023 (Neshanic Valley R/M)

The first group had all the low scores and except for George all the pots. Ed wins by 1 over Bruce who made a guest appearance.  It was a nice fall day - alternating between jacket weather and shorts weather. Jim R earned another new nickname "mr. 9 degree" - On the 12th hole he exclaimed "I was fiddling around with the loft on my driver at the range and now I realize I forgot to change it back from 9 degrees" - you can't make this up. He had wondered why his drives were all low and he didn't have his "butter cut".

October 12, 2023 (Green Knoll)

Mike wins for the first time in quite a while holding off a hard charging George Connors by 1 shot. Ed wondered how Mike shot a 100 at QB when he was Ed's partner on Saturday and then shoots 80 with George as his partner today - Mike had no answer or clue to the turnaround. Congrats to Greg Risoldi for completing his 6th qualifying round today. JR had been Jim 2.0 recently but went back to Jim MS Dos 1.0 today. JD makes a guest appearance since he "has too many vacation days". Ed asked him what a vacation day was. Apparently Reese also has lots of vacation days to use up. George Connors "lives for Thursday golf". Course was in good shape - the rough was high as usual and there is still some sand on the greens from aeration. Picture perfect fall day - guys that wore pants were wishing they had worn shorts.

October 10, 2023 (Neshanic Valley R/M)

October 8, 2023 (Spooky Brook)

Ron wins by 2 over Andrew - Andrew and Billy win the Partners match +7.

October 6, 2023 (Quail Brook)

We had cloudy skies to start then the heavens opened up when the first group was on the 6th green. After finishing the 7th they waited in the shelter until the rain stopped. The second group waited on the 7th tee. Jim Rinaldi 2.0 was hitting the ball very far and he professed that he didn't know why. He wins by 3 over Reese. Reese wins almost as much be grabbing the front and was in 6 pots.
