2024
George wins easily over Mike by 6 on a beautiful spring day. Aerated greens were slow which was good and bad - good if you hit your shot too hard bad if you hit it too soft. On 17 all 3 of us had 185 into the pin for our second shot - courtesy of solid drives and firm fairways - alas only George was able to make a birdie as Rick and Mike left there birdie putts 2 inches out. Lots of laughs. Rick was snookered in 9's losing $25 total - George collected $20 of that.
Started out a little overcast and drizzly but the sun came out and got into the mid 60s. Green Knoll was in nice shape overall. Reese shoots a gross 78 and wins by 3 with a net 33 on the back.
April 15, 2024 (Neshanic Valley -R/L)
A warm Tax Day but still windy from the weekend. We played Ridge/ Lake and Dave Perry was on fire!
His Putter hadn't been this hot since his college days. He shot even Par gross on the RIdge front 9 and was
1 over gross going into #9 Lake. Finished with a 9 on the last hole. Even the walk-on who joined us questioned
if he was Sandbagging. Great Shooting Dave!
April 13, 2024 (World Series Qualifier #1 - Spooky Brook)
The second week of the DGA season was a bit chilly and very very windy on a wet course. George Connors, Jim Rinaldi and Rick Newport all shot net 74 to gain entry to the World Series. George was at the Stagehouse and picked up a round for everyone so Jim and Rick owe him a bit of the winnings. George and Jim P also won their partners match against Bob Babetski and Bob Nowark. George also found Dave Perry's wallet on the back nine on the 14th(?) tee box and returned it at the bar. That was sweet because Dave was sitting at the bar figuring it was gone. The wind was brutal and continued to get worse through the day. Coudos to Dave P for a net 35 on the front and Mark S for a net 35 on the back. Very nice.
April 6, 2024 (Quail Brook - Opening Day)
It was a cold, cloudy and windy opening day at Quail Brook and the scores were as bad as the weather. Billy Bylina gets the first win of the season with a Net 74 and a 5 shot win over Jim Rinaldi. He wins the front and back with Net 37's. Jim Rinaldi was in plenty of pots Birdies, Greenies, Gross and Net Par 3's and finished 2nd on the back with a Net 39. Play was slow in the last group but it seems to have agreed with Bill and Jim.
Only 3 scores in the Net 70's, 3 scores in the Net 90's and a Beer Line of 81.
