Great Bear Golf Club - World Series Day (September 14, 2019)
It was a typical World Series Day at Great Bear, cloudy and rainy. But it was another great World Series Day. The last two groups got rained on but the food and drinks afterwards more than made up for it. Mansour Rismanchi finished with a Net 72 and a two shot World Series Victory. But more on this later from the Commission.
Jim Rinaldi and Dan Price shot Net 63 and win on World Series Day. Jim shoots a gross 75, finishes 2nd on the back with a net 30. He also won Net Birdies with 12. Dan Price, I guess we can call him a high handicapper, shoots a gross 84 with a Net 29 on the back. He also won Net Par 3's with an 11. Commissionor Rutigliano finishes in 3rd with a net 65 and ties the from with Andrew Keller with a Net 32 on the front. There were plenty of Sandy and Greenie winners.
In other World Series Day news Jim Rinaldi won longest drive on 15 and closest to the pin on 16 while Mansour Rismanchi won closest to the pin on 7.
Green Knoll (September 28, 2019)
It was a beautiful Fall Saturday but the scores didn't necessarily go low. Dave Ellis and Mike Rolph tie with Net 70, but the most interesting score belongs to Fitz who takes home 2nd place money. Fitz had 2 tough holes on the F9 but then his attack wedge caught fire on the back as he records a "Des", for a 21 shot improvement over the F9.
Both partners matches were tight throughout with Connors/Rismanchi holding off Elllis/Yusko +2 and Jeffries/Rinaldi holding on over Cavallo/Korleski +1. Connors/Rismanchi were up +6 after 3 holes but Ellis/Yusko fought back to even the match after 11, got the lead back to 4 after 16 and held on, losing 2 on 17, then halving 18. In the other match, Jeffries/Rinaldi took a +1 lead on 17 following a birdie by Mike and then the group halved 18.
Congrats to both partner teams for making it to the championship.
