DGA a NJ Golf Club

2018
October 29, 2018 (Barefoot - Fazio)
A fantastic weather day…sunny, warm, light breeze, course in terrific shape. The golf…well, not so terrific! A nine for Dave and another nine on the back for GKIII got George Nolan some lunch money.
October 26, 2018 (Quail Brook)
4 DGAers beat the coming bad weather on a nice day at Quail, good luck to tomorrow's players. Jim Petronchak edges out Mike Jeffries. Course was in great shape although hard fast greens made chipping and putting a premium.
October 20, 2018 (Spooky Brook)
Spooky Brook played a little tougher on a cold windy day. Charlie Connors continues his good play, shoots net Par and wins by two over Fitzgerald. Korleski has a Johnny. Petronchak starts the round Par, Par, Birdie, Par then flames out… He almost flamed out literally on 18 when his third shot from the front bunker, flew the green and hit the fuel tank used for the golf carts. Taking his drop next to the tank, we were thinking please.... No Sparks!
October 13, 2018 (Warrenbrook)
Four DGA'ers braved the misty, drizzly weather at Warrenbrook playing LCP in your own fairway. Turns out we should have played it "all over" as we must have set a record for hitting most muddiest golf balls all day long. With the weather turning nicer on the back 9, Charlie Connors held off a hard charging Dan Price to win by 2. Both FT and MR incurred "moving ball" infractions while their balls were in the rough amongst the leaves. Mansour had a bad Johnny (35-49). CC and DP won $5 from MR and FT winning the back 9, total 18 and junk 3-1.
October 11, 2018 (Innisbrook - Copperhead)
It was sunny, hot and humid for our final round at Copperhead. Ron Ceglia Sr. and Mike Jeffries tied with Net 73. In the Fall Classic, Dave Perry nipped Tom Onka by 1 shot with a total of 303 Net. It is Dave's 4th Fall Classic championship. Congratulations, Dave!
October 10, 2018 (Innisbrook - South)
The fringe of Hurricane Michael hit Innisbrook while we wereplaying the first 4 holes. Visibility was 10 feet….greens were lakes…and the 3rd green had waves! After that, there were intermittent showers the rest of the round. Dave Perry won by 3 shots over Luke Wolters...and Ron Emma squandered his Net 33 on the front 9 to get a Johnny (33-43). Dave has a 3 shot lead over Tom Onka and 4 shot lead over Luke Wolters in the Fall Classic.
October 9. 2018 (Innisbrook - North)
The second round became "Moving Day"….but in reverse! People move up after day 2 of the Fall Classic only by default when others scored so poorly. Luke Wolters finished 1st…with a 6 over par Net 76. Dave Perry recovered from a 12 on the 3rd hole to shoot Net 77 and finsh tied for 2nd. The North Course just ate us up. Ed Korleski had a Johnny (50-39).
October 8, 2018 (Innisbrook - Copperhead)
Tom Onka nips Ed Korleski by 1 shot on the Copperhead course. However, the highlight of the day was Bob Nowark making 3 Sandys…and he didn't putt out of any of them! Lowlight was Bob Nowark hitting his 3rd shot on #1 backwards 1 yard….and it didn't hit anything. Johnnys by Luke Wolters (34-44) and Bob Babetski (45-35).
October 7, 2018 (Innisbrook - Island)
Ron Ceglia Sr & Bob Nowark blitzed the front 9 and then managed to play well enough on the back 9 to sweep the Nassaus…and most of the pots.
October 6, 2018 (Innisbrook - South)
Three DGA and 1 former DGA (Rob Perry) tackled the South Course shortly after they arrived. Ron Ceglia Sr won by 3….but hardly won any money.
October 6, 2018 (Quail Brook)
It was a small group at Quail Brook with the masses in Tampa. Dan Price and Bob Keller started out in the late group but finished first with Net 72. In the early group Charlie Connors had three Greenies and three Sandies and won money in 9's even with all the high handicappers in his group. Larry Thiry was on fire out of the gate with a Net 31 on the front but a serious cool down on the back to the likes of a Super Johnnie ending up with a Net 47.
